Lemon and Peppermint Essential Oils for Digestive Support

Recently, I have come to the conclusion that I need to quit drinking coffee.  This seemed like an easy decision at first.  But then the headaches and crankiness set in.  It didn’t help that I wasn’t able to eat much.  I have been having a bout of pancreatitis when I decided to quit drinking coffee cold turkey.  I discovered some articles through my digging that suggested that some essential oils might aid in supporting my digestive system while simultaneously giving me something to replace my coffee drinking habit with.

I found some lemon and peppermint essential oils, which are two of the essential oils that I read about as being directly supportive of digestive and immune health.  Here is a picture of the essential oils that I used:

It is very important to ensure that the essential oils that you use are certified of a grade and quality suitable of ingestion.  Also, not all essential oils are consumable.  The brand I found and felt the most confidence in was from Young Living Essential Oils.  Not only were the essential oils from Young Living third party certified for purity and consumable, but I really appreciated the entire seed to seal approach that the company takes in handling their product.

As a side note, I burned myself on the fireplace a couple of nights after Christmas.  Immediately I did a little research and discovered that lavender could aid in soothing a burn.  Sure enough, the lavender essential only soothed the burn and provided what I was looking for.  Often, during this cold and flu season, we will use thieves essential oil support our immune system.  Frankincense is also a very highly coveted essential oil.  I figure if it was good enough to baby Jesus, it’s good enough for me.  While much research may still need to be conducted, I’m convinced of the benefits of employing essential oils in my daily life.

All kidding aside, I’m relieved to say that I have been able to quit coffee.  The funny thing is that I actually feel as if I have more energy from less sleep than I did before when I was drinking coffee.  The next step is to starting going to to the gym.  Maybe I’ll save that as a New Year’s Resolution, lol.
